For those of you not in the know, we were recently told by our landlady that we would have to move out of our rental house by about mid-July. While we had been toying with the idea of buying a house for several months, this announcement threw us into overdrive, and in one grueling week we managed to find a house that is as close to a perfect match for us as we will ever find in our price range.
The house is a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath in the Normandy Park neighborhood, a nice area full of senior/retired Boeing employees and spoiled Yuppies (like ourselves). Personally, I can't believe anyplace this nice can be so close to Burien (only 1.8 miles from Margaret's clinic!). 2700 square feet, plenty of space, garden plot out back, two-car garage with a shop, gas heat, central air conditioning(!), blah blah blah. We're totally smitten with the place. And yes, we paid to damn much for it. But no more than it's worth.
This brings me to an interesting caveat. We are approved on a loan for the purchase price, but we have not yet totally finalized the thing. It is conceivable, however infinitesimally unlikely, that the loan won't go through. If this happens, you'll be able to tell because the gallery below will be replaced with a photo of me pissing on the side of a bank. However, we are comfortable enough with the situation to put up this brief peek at our (soon-to-be) new digs. We close the sale June 29.
